🎶 Begin DJing with Safety and Ease — at Your Pace, Without Pressure or Overwhelm

Your Tutor: Michelle Shaw

Inclusive 1:1 music and DJ sessions for adults, children, and young people — shaped around each individual.
Calm, creative, and confidence-building.

We support people who love music but feel overwhelmed or unsure around technology, equipment, or software — offering a calmer, clearer way to learn, with safety and time built in.

Sessions are Autism- and ADHD-friendly, prioritising emotional safety, dignity, agency, and consent at every stage.

1:1 sessions are:

  • fully personalised

  • neurodivergent- and trauma-informed

  • safeguarding-led

  • prepared using the learner’s own choice of music

  • held with care, containment, and clear structure

We work at a pace that supports regulation and confidence, adapting each session to the individual rather than expecting them to fit a group, system, or curriculum.

Where many DJ schools focus on producing DJs, Want2DJ focuses on supporting the person learning — and helping DJing fit around real life.

Learners of all ages and backgrounds come to build confidence, develop skills, and practise with structure — safely, steadily, and without pressure.

This is for you if you:

  • feel unsure where to start with DJing

  • feel overwhelmed by gear, software, or tutorials

  • want confidence before committing to anything bigger

  • need calm, practical, judgement-free support

  • are returning to music after a long or busy chapter

You don’t need experience, equipment, or everything figured out.
You just need support to get started.

At Want2DJ, learning isn’t rushed or performative.
It’s human, paced, and built around you — and what you love.

👉 Start with a relaxed 60- or 90-minute introductory session

A different way to begin

Many DJ schools focus on outcomes.
Want2DJ focuses on the person learning.

Your first session is a gentle introduction — not a test.
Adults usually start with 90 minutes.
Children and young people usually start with 60 minutes.

Sessions are relaxed, personalised, and pressure-free.

Your first session is about exploration, not performance.

Together, we may:

  • simplify equipment or software so it finally makes sense

  • practise mixing through calm, repeatable steps

  • gently remove any barriers that have been holding you back

  • build confidence through small, achievable moments aligned with your interests and how music shows up for you

What happens after the first session?

If you’d like to continue, you can choose what suits you:

  • ongoing sessions (monthly, fortnightly or weekly), or

  • occasional one-off support, when you need it

If learning at home feels safer or more accessible, mobile sessions may be an option.
These are arranged in advance and shaped around comfort, clear boundaries, and either a first-time setup or working with what you already use at home.

Everything moves at your pace. Nothing is locked in.

⭐ Introductory DJ Sessions

A calm, personalised way to begin

They’re ideal for people who love music, are curious about DJing, but feel unsure, overwhelmed, or stuck with where to begin.

Session length

  • Children & young people (15 & under): usually start with 60 minutes

  • Adults (16+): usually start with 90 minutes

This keeps sessions paced, supportive, and suited to the learner’s age and capacity.

Because sessions are personalised and paced around individual needs, pricing is shared clearly after an initial conversation.

Gifting an introductory session

Introductory sessions can also be purchased as a gift, or as a way to try DJing without committing to anything long-term.

Often, it’s the moment someone realises:

“Oh… this actually feels possible.”

Your DJ journey — at your pace

There’s no single path into DJing, no required destination, and no pressure to perform.

Your first session is simply about clarity — not commitment. From there, you choose what (if anything) comes next.

We don’t move people along a path. We walk beside them while they find their own.
